Did you know that 38% of all Australians experiencing homelessness are under the age of 25? That’s over 43,000 children and young people, all unable to live at home. The leading causes of youth homelessness are housing crisis, family violence, family separation and breakdown. Many kids resort to couch-surfing or living temporarily with other households and some are even are forced to live rough on the streets.

I feel very passionately that these young people deserve our help which is why I’m fundraising for the 2019 Sleep Under the Stars event. Funds raised go to Stepping Stone House which is a not for profit organisation providing accommodation and development for young people who are homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness or are living away from their families aged 12 to 24 years old. The aim is to develop their self-esteem, resilience, self-confidence and good health through motivational experiential learning including outdoor education and adventure so that they achieve responsible independence and be the best they can be.

My choice of fundraising is to offer you a beeswax planet saving fundraising pack for only $25, every pack sold will donate $11 to Stepping Stone house and the Goodman Foundation will match all donations, so each purchase contributes $22 towards Stepping Stone House.
